On April 15, the Modernism Seminar of the Humanities Center at Harvard University will be hosting a lecture given by Sarah Cole, an Associate Professor of English at Columbia University and the author of Modernism, Male Friendship, and the First World War (Cambridge University Press, 2003). Her talk, entitled “Yeats and Cyclical Violence: The Irish Rising and the Limits of Enchantment,” is drawn from her current work on violence and literature in the modernist period, which will appear in the Oxford UP Modernist Literature and Culture Series.
