Theater companies continue to be interested in adapting different Joyce works.

On October 30th and November 1st, the Metropolitan Arts Center (the MAC) will host the Tron Theatre Company’s adaptation of Ulysses.  The production is directed by Andy Arnold and features an impressive ensemble cast including Jean-Paul Van Cauwelaert as Bloom and Michael Dylan as Stephen.  The production also features Dermot Bolger’s anticipated adaptation of Ulysses that preserves its episodic structure and multiple settings.  Click here for information about tickets and show times and here and here for more information on Bolger’s adaptation.

In addition, The Court Theatre will be producing a musical adaptation of “The Dead” from November 8-December 9th.   The production will be directed by Charles Newell and will feature music and lyrics adapted by Shaun Davey and Richard Nelson.  The cast includes Phillip Earl Johnson as Gabriel Conroy and Susie McMonagle as Greta Conroy.  For more ticketing and show time information and to watch interviews with Charles Newell, musical director Doug Peck, and costume designer Linda Roethke click here.
